SK: Bude to znieť ako klišé, ale určite budete súhlasiť, keď poviem, že Benátky sú jedno z najromantickejších miest v Európe. Lagúna, ktorá nesie ich historické centrum, kanály či mramorový oblúk vnášajú do mesta nezameniteľnú atmosféru. Určite preto pri ich návšteve nevynechajte plavbu klasickou gondolou, z ktorej budete mať výhľad na samotnú kráľovnú Jadranského mora. Medzi jej najobdivovanejšie pamiatky patrí určite Námestie sv. Marka, ktoré je známe i svojou frekventovanosťou na fotografiách turistov. Tí majú totiž v obľube využiť i kulisy, v tomto prípade holuby, ktorých je tam neúrekom a vytvoriť tak nespočetné množstvo fotografických koláží. Je celkom vtipné sledovať to, no ešte vtipnejšie je si to vyskúšať. Takže do Benátok iba s vrecúškom hrášku alebo obilnín! Nemyslite si však, že na námestie chodia turisti kŕmiť holubov. Je to iba skrátenie si času počas čakania v dlhočíznom rade k prístupovej bráne do Baziliky sv. Marka, ktorá je ohromujúca zvonka i zvnútra. Exteriér tejto sakrálnej stavby, ako i interiér v podobe mramorovej mozaikovej podlahy vyráža dych, a preto sa naozaj oplatí dlhú radu vystáť. Benátky stojí zato navštíviť najmä v lete, avšak odporúčam vám i prelom druhého a tretieho mesiaca v roku, kedy sa tam koná známy Benátsky karneval. V čase karnevalu nikdy neviete čo vás čaká a prekvapí. Samotný karneval totiž nemá pevný program. Môžete sa stať súčasťou tancov, maškarného plesu, regát, ale i rôznych koncertov. Turistov je v Benátkach v tomto období naozaj veľa. Niekedy je to doslova „tlačenica“, ktorá však stojí určite zato! Taliani prezlečení do masiek chápu karneval ako tradíciu. Nemajú problém sa s vami odfotiť i päťkrát. Dokonca vám niektorí zapózujú tak, akoby sa vžili do role svojej masky. Tento rok vás v rámci divadla čakalo i prekvapenie v podobe zletu „holubice“ v podaní talianskej modelky Julie Nasi. Tá sa zniesla zo zvonice priamo na námestie sv. Marka. My sme zvonicu absolvovali ako prvú a malo to i svoje opodstatnenie. Keďže sme prišli do Benátok v poobedňajších hodinách a náš vtedajší výlet bol iba dvojdňový, chceli sme sa čo najskôr nabažiť nádherného výhľadu zhora na celé mesto. Z Benátok sme si koniec koncov neodniesli iba krásne dojmy, ktoré nám ostali v pamäti dodnes, ale i masky ako pamiatku na karneval, či malý prívesok vyrobený z benátskeho skla. Je to už zopár rokov od nášho výletu do Benátok, ale chuť originálneho talianskeho kapučína si pamätám dodnes.

EN: It will probably sounds like a cliché but Im sure you will agree with me when I say that Venice is one of the most romantic place in Europe. The lagoon which holds the whole historical centre, the canals or marble arch bring to the city wonderful atmosphere. You cannot pass the cruise by classic gondola by its visit because you would pass the fantastic view on the Queen of the Adriatic Sea. The most admired cultural relics in the front rank are The Square of saint Mark which is also famous because of its frequentness on tourists pictures. The tourists actually like to use also the coulisses, in this case the pigeons, that you can see there a lot and so they can take a lots of pictures and create lots of photo collages. It is kind of funny to watch it but its definitely funnier to try it. So never come to Venice without the peas or grain! But of course the tourists dont come to the square only because they want to feed the pigeons. It is just time that they spend during their long waiting for entry to the gate of Saint Mark Basilica which is stunning from outside and inside too. The exterior of this sacral building as well as interior in the form of mosaic floor will take your breath away and thats why you really should spend your time by waiting in this very long line. Its better to see Venice in summer but I would also recommend the period of February and March when there is very famous Venice carnival. You never know what will surprise you during the carnival. Because the carnival doesnt have a fixed program. You can be a part of dances, regattas or other concerts. There are a lots of tourists in this time. Sometimes its really a big crowd but it worth it! Italians take this carnival seriously. They are dressed in masks and understand it as a tradition. They dont have a problem to take a picture with you even five times. Some of them give you even some poses that show their masks characters. This year there was also the surprise of italian model Julia Nasi who was triggered from bell-tower to the Square of saint Mark and she really looked like a dove. Amazing scene! We went to the bell-tower in first hours of our short trip. We simply wanted to see the view of whole city as soon as possible. After all we didnt go back home only with nice memories of views but also with one example of carnival mask as well as small pendant that was made of Venice glass. It is few years since our Venice trip but I still know how the original cappuccino is like.
